Happy Memorial Day!

Another week has flown by and May is almost gone already! I'm so incredibly happy that Dad is doing better and out of the hospital, It's given me an extra boost--I know with all my heart that Heavenly Father answers prayers!! I've been working extra hard and we're seeing miracles here! We are doing a lot of knocking and walking and talking! This last Saturday we decided to go out to Discovery Bay because we've noticed that many of the homes are beautiful weekend homes, right out on the delta--so we were knocking and an old couple opens the door and we start talking about religion--He mentioned and how the wife (who wasn't saying anything) is pure catholic so there's no possibility in changing that--(or so she thinks)--they were at first kind of  stand-offish, and then the husband notices that my nametag is in Spanish, and all I said was "si, yo hablo espanol" with a big smile and they said "well COME ON IN!" and we had a really cool conversation about how they were actually just visiting from southern California, but saw the Mormon Battalion and had a lot of friends who were Mormon and they think we're great people as a whole :) Then the wife opened up and said she's from Honduras and she was so excited when I told her about the new Tegucigalpa Temple! So, long story short, keep on being that good example to those around you, people see your good works, so remember that you're planning seeds without even realizing it! my favorite scripture lately has been Alma13:24! we have work to do! Sister Woodruff and I are loving Brentwood more and more as the new fruit comes on! Today after emailing we're going to go pick CHERRIES with some members! We are so spoiled here! (It was starting to rain though, I hope it clears up so we can pick without getting soaked). Then tonight we have 2 Family Home Evenings planned and they're going to be sooo much fun! teaching about the plan of salvation and the meaning of baptism! John 3:5 :) Being a missionary is amazing and I'm learning to love people more than I ever thought possible! Remember to live so that the Spirit can be a part of your life, and when he talks to you--LISTEN! :)

Kristin's Latest!

Hi friends and family! Sorry about last week--I didn't have a lot of email time because we we to the temple instead of having a normal P-day--but It was much needed! I love the temple. It truly is the house of the Lord, and it's so hard to get through the darkness of this life without that spiritual recharge--so go as often as you can! I just want to thank you all for your prayers, not just for me but for my Dad, It's hard being out here when there's a lot going on at home, but I know that there are people I need to love and serve! We have 2 baptisms coming up!! Christine Judd and her daughter will be baptized on June 8th!! We're having so much fun teaching her, she's pretty much teaching us--Sister Judd has been takin the lessons for a decade now and probably knows more doctrine than a lot of the members--but she's finally ready to make this change and give up those little things that have been stopping her all these years--we shared Alma 7:15 and it helped her a lot, she's so ready and it's amazing to see, here Husband will be baptizing them and they will have their little baby blessed in Sacrament the very next day! It's so exciting, I know the Lord puts all of us in the paths of those around us for a reason! I love love LOVE being a missionary! I've seen so many miracles already! Brentwood is in full-bloom, (and so are our allergies) and it's cherry-picking season! Brentwood cherries are big and juicy and delicious! Maybe I'll be able to send some home ;)

in the merry month of May...

A beautiful day here in Brentwood, California. I love it here. I LOVE the people. I love the blossoms. love being a missionary. It doesn't matter where or what language the Lord has called me to serve! Serving, loving, smiling, helping, It's all universal and it makes me so happy! We're teaching a young mom named Christine, she's amazing and she's so close to baptism! The ward here is amazing too and we're starting to see things pick up as we branch out and invite more and more people to learn, we have a few new people we're starting to teach and I know the Lord is blessing this area and blessing us and preparing so many people all around us! One of my new favorite scriptures is Alma 13:24. "For behold, angels are declaring it unto many at this time in our land; and this is for the purpose of preparing the hearts of the children of men to receive his word at the time of his coming in his glory." The gospel is amazing, it's SO true. Jesus Christ is our Savior and he loves us all so much more than we can even comprehend! I love you all and know the Lord will place people in your path who are prepared for the gospel and he will help you recognize them too if you pray for that strength and ability!

Hellooo!

Happy Monday friends and family! I'm just amazed. Every day is such a trial and a blessing! I'm amazed that Heavenly Father has trusted me enough to train and it reminds me to stay focused and obedient! Brentwood is a hard area to work in! The people are so nice but so HAPPY with life as it is! They don't think they need the gospel in their lives, so that's the hardest part--but the ward is AMAZING and they are so willing to open their homes to us, we just need to bring people in and see what they're missing! This transfer is almost over already and I'm just blown away by it all! It's been going by so fast and sister Woodruff and I are smiling all the while :) We have a lot of families we're working with to love and serve and reactivate and it's amazing! We're going to have FHE with the Little Family tonight, we've been trying for a MONTH to get into their home and it's finally the right timing for them! we're going to teach about the Holy Ghost and help them make family goals to put their faith into action to invite Him into their lives by going to churhc, praying, and reading the scriptures as a family! It's a good activity for everyone! This last satuday was our "Mormon Helping Hands" service project! It was SO fun, and hard, and hot. There was an awesome turn-out, about 80 people there! We planted trees and vines along SandCcreek Rd. and people would drive by and honk at us :) It was a lot of digging and hauling bark back and forth and after a good 3 hours that morning, we were pooped! but ready for a full day of missionary work ahead of us! I'll send some pictures of it next time :) Well it's time to run, but remember that I love you all so much, and also, we receive the GREATEST joy when we serve those around us, so make some act of service part of every day and you'll be so happy--I promose! Mosiah 2:17.
